We have a very powerful eclipse period to start off the new
year! On January 5th at 6:28
pm (MST) there will be a New Moon Partial Solar Eclipse in Capricorn. Then on January 20th at 10:16 PM
(MST) there will be a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Leo.
Eclipses are not just active on the day they occur. They generally occur in pairs but not
always. The period between these
eclipses is a very powerful time and we should be very conscientious of how we
use the time. The effects of these
eclipses can last long after they are over.
Using this energy effectively can create long lasting changes in our
lives.
Eclipses have a history of being something to fear. But there is really nothing to fear when you
understand the energy and use it correctly. Eclipse periods are NOT a time of
manifesting or bringing new things into your life. It is a time of letting things go. This is evident in nature where it has long
been observed that animals tend to have more miscarriages during this period.
This is an excellent and powerful time to let go of things
that are no longer serving us. This may
include addictions, bad habits, toxic relationships, past karma, negative
thinking, unhealthy patterns, etc. Letting
these things go once and for all frees our spirit and lightens up our soul. It creates the space for us to manifest
better things into our lives.
If you have struggled with freeing yourself from these
things in the past, harnessing the power of the eclipses can be very
helpful. If you can have the
determination and will power to give these things up just between January 5th
– January 21st, you will find at the end of this period that you no longer
have the desire to bring these things back into your life.
I generally find this to be a good time to do a detox. Eliminate sugars, sodas, alcohol, and other
unhealthy substances that you may be putting into your body. Look around and see what kind of toxic
chemicals you can remove from you home. Avoid those people that are a constant
source of stress and negative energy. Do an energy clearing in your home. If you can go on a retreat that would be
great but it doesn’t have to be difficult.
It’s only 2 weeks, right?
I had a personal experience putting this in practice in
which I spontaneously quit drinking alcohol all together. It was not something I intended or thought I
needed to do, it was just a two-week break.
I found that when this period was over the mere thought of drinking a
beer made my stomach turn. It was quite
unexpected. I did have to try drinking a
beer just to prove to myself that I had free will to make my own choices. It was no longer enjoyable, it did not taste
good and just a half can of beer made me physically ill. I have had no desire to drink since
then. It actually brought about a new understanding
of how unhealthy it really was. It was
lowering my level of consciousness and access to higher levels of information.
Give it a try and see what kind of results you get. I would love to hear your experiences. You
don’t have to focus on everything just those things that are most important
right now. There will be other eclipses
so you can take it a step at a time.
Also, be aware that this is not a good time to start new
projects or relationships with new people.
New projects or investments may not work out the way you planned. You
may end up regretting any new relationships that form during this time.
Wishing you all the best on becoming the best version of you
during 2019 and beyond!
